Location, location, location

It's important, right?

But, when funds aren't endless, what's more important a really nice house, or a really nice location?

Right now we have a very nice house, in a pretty good location. But, as I've written before, it's in a third-class city that has third-class manners, at times. All with first-class taxes.

We're trying to do things differently this time around, trying to be more wise about what we get (not too big, not too small so we won't quickly outgrow it) and where we buy it. We still want the user-friendly walkable destinations.

It has to have a nice yard both for us, and for the dog. It has to have a decent kitchen or the potential to be great.

And, finally, it has to have a user-friendly work/play set up. In other words, I need an office -- particularly one I can write off on taxes -- with a playroom right next to it.

Am I dreaming?

If you had to choose right now -- one or the other -- great location or great house, which would it be?

Location. But, that may be that we are going to put ours up for sale soon and know it will be a bugger to sell because of the location. If I was planning on staying here for a long time, I would probably just be happy that it's a gorgeous house.
You'll find the right fit for you, don't settle!

Location. YOU make the house great with your happiness. But either way, your next house finds you, not the other way around. "Let the future come to you."

Location! You can always work on the house.

I'm thinking both lol. If you can find it of course. If you have to choose I would say location. It is amazing what a little work can do to fix a house. You can't do anything to fix the location though.

PS Thanks for the support over at my blog. It really helped!

Location. You can change the house, but you can't change where it is at without moving again. I would buy a ramshakle house in a great neighborhood any day.

Location definitely. Part of what you like about a house IS the location. Youc an change the house, but you can't change the location!

Catching up... It's unanimous! Location. We have the smallest house in a nice neighborhood -- still more than we can afford -- but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
